philosophy of libertarianism

Bumped into a lotta words on libertarianism, monopolies, and microsoft I thought was interesting and thought I'd share. I don't agree with everything, but I enjoyed it. http://fare.tunes.org/liberty/microsoft_monopoly.html

Should go over well with the anti-Microsoft zealots.

I think a whole lot of littlle people, singers, writers, artists, smaller companies, are going to be steam rolled under the rug if the government got rid of the concept of intellectual property.

IP rights are such a huge thing nowadays. People don't invent physical objects much anymore, but the ideas, software, books, music...if you can't keep control of those things that come from your own mind...what can you keep control of?

He may be aiming at minorities and history of regulation growth in the US, but the principles apply regardless of country or ethnicity. The pie can never be bigger than 100%, so the more of it government takes, the less there is for everyone else, the worse off the poor and disadvantaged become, and the better off those that form government become, from the head of state down to the lowest grunts under them.
