Kids mugging @ 10 years old

I don't know about this place anymore. Since when are gangs of 10 years old kids mugging women at midnight?? Where the heck are the parents? And where the heck, does a group of kids get ideas like this from. Are kids being prewired with violence?

Media, TV and movies are doing us in. Never mind that fact that over 50% of kids have only one parent.

When will we learn....

Bum:

Thanks for proving my point, and how naive you are about proper parental responsibilities.

Wake up today's reality.

What action do you suggest the City should take?

There isn't anything the city can do other than hire more police (does Mr. King want to pay the extra taxes for that?). Enforcement of the law is the responsibility of the police, the justice system, and the feds. Teaching kids proper behaviour is the job of the parents, with a bit of the Education system thrown in. What the mayor has to do with it...

I think, quite frankly, that people misplace blame on the media and TV. I know a LOT of people, and none of them have ever been violent because of the media; and none of them have horrible parents.

It could be that these kids live horrible lives at home and stuff, and could have abusive parents or somesuch.

As for the media, stop blaming it. It's not even the cause for 90% of what it's blamed for.

Trip's right, raising kids to be decent people is no-one's resposibility except parents' job.
Sanehouse is right, however lousy a job media does, it isn't at fault either.
Concerning posts #2 to #8, soome people's kids just never seem to grow up and those posters are typical of that group.

applied force to the seat of learning has remarkably educational effects.
