So, are you suggesting that because I don't like the fact that modern western lefties are at least acting as enablers, and at worst aiding and abetting, this growing cancer that is a deranged segment of Islam, I necessarily must be a Bush supporter?

Is that really how you have me pigeon-holed?

What's the point of trying to share ideas with those who are uninterested in learning new ones, if one has to endure ignorant, unthinking, inconsiderate, willfully obtuse, abuse in the process?

If "lelfties" are "enablers" of Islamic terrorism, then "righties" by default are opportunists that will climb over the bodies of the dead and maimed to make a buck. If the likes of Boeing could not make a profit from the wars they supply, would there even be wars.

The hypocrisy of it all is that they demand "sacrifice" (see video) of the po' folk, while they themselves run their fingers through their new minted wealth.

Do you you want to continue with broad strokes like this?

You and friends have the nerve/gall to deal in broad brushstrokes all the time, constantly. Anyone who takes issue is automatically a "rightie" regardless of their personal views. You CONSTANTLY reference it.

So I ask you - do a search on how often I use the word "leftie" - you'll find that it's extremely rare. OTOH, you and your friends' blanket use of the term "righties" are all over the place - anyone who says anything at all that doesn't agree with the viewpoint is immediately thought of as someone who supports war and/or Bush.

Way to add to the polarization there Rick!!!

I believe that you will find that I almost NEVER use such a blanket statement. Even in this case, I specifically pointed to a sub-set - I have a reason for using the particular phrase "modern western leftie"

If you had been following my thinking all along, you would know by now that my personal philosophy is one of hope that someday everyone can live by the egalitarian principles put forward by the original "lefties"

But you're too busy bashing others (blanket righties to you) to listen to what they actually feel and have to say. Just like those sheep you have fooled, only moreso, since you seem to have a grandiosity thing going on.

"As ye sow, so shall ye reap."

The broadest stroke of them all is to subscribe to a philosophy, yet to be unable to put meat on that particular set of bones.

This whole discussion began as a simple question revolving around the (theoretical) first few steps towards implementing Libertarianism, from what we have today. The question still hasn't been answered.

Got anything to say about the titled thread? Like why we shouldn't have offshore oil exploitation and finish the job the federal fisheries are so good at?

Ah Yes...........

........the Age of Oil is finished, and like the dinosaur it is, it just doesn't know it's dead yet. So it will walk a few more steps, before it falls over and goes through it's death throes...........
