British Columbia's Snow Pack

I had to get a good laugh out of this thread.. it was intended as a prank thread ...but .. truth be known ....http://www.gonorthwest.com/BC/ski-map-bc.htm is a VERY....VERY popular website for Ski'er..Sledder's and Back Country Adventure's .. such as Heli-skier's and Country Snow sho'er & ski'ers...as it shows the up to date Snow Reports and Resorts and Prices ... such websites are used by people that would come to Canada for their Winter Adventures .... and see the ..Olympics

The problem with this Industry ( ski & Snow Sports ) is....places like Whistler/Blackhome spend millions on advertising to get most of the " tourist dollar " in this sport .... But ... people can and are shopping around in websites ..like the above to get more for your vacation dollar ,,,and that's what seems to be happening in the last while ... Whistler/Blackhome has gotten so much press about them beng the # 1 ski vacation spot .....the huge price tags for Whistler/Blackhome vacations are wide spread ...and mostly " Family - Group vacationer's " avoid places such as Whistler/Blackhome .. Sun Valley .. Lake Placed... BrickenRidge.... to name a few ...

The problem most west Coast B.C.er's have is ...the don't understand that ... the Kootenay & Canadain Rockies pretty much sell themselves ...people pay large dollars to ski & play in these area's .... were it's " more for your buck " as they call it ....again you have to remember .. people like Warren Miller and his films sold the Kootenay & Canadain Rockies in his films of extreme sports ....But... Kootenay & Canadain Rockies also know where snow is measured in feet rather than inches/cm ....

It's kinda sad in alot of ways that places like Vancouver/Whistler/Blackhome can't get along as a Province as a whole .. rather than want to hord the gravey of things such as the Olympics... but as long as we have people like Gordy Campbell and his Liberal yes men ..it's always gonna be like that ....
