Angry Bingogate Revisited?

Sure as hell sounds like another Bingogate to me. So who determines "which" charity will be in charge of dispersing this new windfall, whose pockets are they lining and what laws are being circumvented with this new change? The whole idea stinks. Why place public property into private hands unless there is some very good reason that will cause relatives to lose all hope of recovering their rightful property because the Liberals want to fatten the wallets of a few "friends".

Spin this one anyway you want, its foul odor will permiate anything. Think about it JLK, if that property was your grandfather's, and was worth a few million, would you be happy to learn, all too late, that it was given to charity before you had a chance to recover it?

Don't think he thought about it - just another 'look good' from the New Era in B.C. in 90 Days, and counting....................

The Liberals really don't have a Plan - they simply know how to lie.

My god you types are a piece of work, everything is a conspiracy....

For those who actually wish to investigate what the Vancouver Foundation is, along with it's history that dates back to the 1940's, information can be found here.

My first reaction to this is that it is a good idea. I see no difference in this really than when they put stuff into an auction.

Like the last auction Wiley and I went to they had unclaimed stuff in it from a "storage" place. I think it is sad that people lose their stuff that way..... But what else are they supose to do with it?

No diferent between "objects" and "property" in my books.

yeah but what are they supose to do? Hold it for 100000000000 years........???????
So those storage companies are supose to hold peoples stuff too even though they are not getting paid to do so? Unclaimed land is not paying taxes.....same thing

No

but in order to make sure they are doing the right thing..and not ripping someone off..they should be looking into it a little more clearly..if they have any integrity ..that is.

There is a risk that this scheme would be open to misuse and corruption.

Now, the question I want answered is this. How was the charity pegged for this service selected? Was the scheme put out to tender or was it award for some unknown reason. Who is behind this charitable organization and what political ties do they have?

Wink Now, Now...

My, CMS, are you inferring that there is a conspiracy here as JLK suggested?

You can bet your butt that it never went out for tender, and that the "charity" has no, or only token, NDP members. Like many other issues the BC Liberals have tackled, the method used is download now and blame them later.

By distancing public issues from government the Lib's are actually doing us all a favor. They are making themselves redundant, useless baggage the public no longer needs to fund.

I have said it before, and I'll say it again, this time with the entire BC Liberal caucus agreeing, we need to fire all politicians and hire the Pattison group to turn the province around. At least Jimmy's shops are union.

Just think of the incredible savings to goverment coffers we'd have by ridding ourselves of those 79 useless leeches sucking back booze and caviar at our expense! Then there's the savings to be realized by axing the huge monstronsity of deputy ministers, assistants, spin doctors, etc. that this government has wasted our money on.

You go Gordo, and the farther the better. If ya need bus fare, don't be afraid to ask!

Um you mean have Jimmy Pattison run the province? Wouldn't that be like Campbell running the province? hehe
